Studiocaster

Product

A live-show control surface, not another social inbox.

Studiocaster is built around the decision between a listener message arriving and reaching the microphone. Screen at speed, select what matters and keep a record of what happened.

The Studiocaster live dashboard during a show: a highlights column, a stream of SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, email and website messages with labels, and one listener message open with the rule that highlighted it

The workflow

One broadcast workflow, start to finish

Channels are only where messages enter. The product is what happens next: rules, screening, selection, safe hand-off and review.

  1. 01 Your audience

    Messages arrive

Texts, WhatsApps, emails, widget messages and direct messages arrive on whichever channel the listener uses. Studiocaster puts them into one stream, in order, tagged with their source and the show on air.

    Multi-channel ingestion and shows

  2. 02 Studiocaster

    The rules run

Banned senders are hidden, expletives masked and keywords tagged before anyone looks. Then the station’s own rules act: highlight a VIP, label a competition entry, alert the producer, send a first-time listener an automatic reply.

    Content safety and smart rules

  3. 03 Moderator

    The screener decides

The screener works by keyword, show and priority, deals with what is unsafe and picks what is worth using — with keyboard shortcuts rather than a mouse. If a competition is running, entries are already being collected against its keyword.

    Live dashboard and competitions

  4. 04 Studio

    The presenter reads

The picks sit in the highlights column for the presenter, beside the live stream. Everything a Studio account can do is reversible, so nothing is lost by accident mid-show.

    Accounts and roles

  5. 05 Admin

    The manager reviews

Afterwards: when the audience got in touch, show by show; who moderated what; and the sponsor’s campaign report, ready to share with the advertiser. Export any of it to CSV.

Capabilities

Everything Studiocaster does

10 capabilities, grouped by the task they serve rather than by how they are built. Some depend on the plan your station is on.

Live message dashboard

Find what should go on air next

Every listener message appears in real time in a single stream, tagged with the show on air. Filter by show, service, keyword, priority or sender, and work the queue with keyboard shortcuts rather than a mouse. When a phone-in floods the lines, a grouped view folds repeats per listener and a highlights column keeps the picks in sight.

  • Real-time stream across every connected channel
  • Filter by show, service, keyword, priority or sender
  • Keyboard shortcuts for moderation
  • Grouped view, live tallies and a backlog bar for busy periods
  • A highlights column for the messages the presenter needs next

A screener can keep pace with a live show and surface the useful message before the moment passes.

Multi-channel ingestion

Give every channel the same broadcast workflow

SMS, WhatsApp, X, Messenger, Telegram, Signal, email and a website widget are collected into one stream, in the order they arrive. Adding a channel does not change how your team works.

  • Eight channels, one operational stream
  • Per-service routing so shows stay separate
  • A website widget in the station’s own logo, colours and wording
  • Replies to listeners where the channel allows it

Channels remain visible as context without dictating how the studio team works.

Content safety

Screen before anything reaches the microphone

Before anyone sees a message, banned senders are hidden and expletives are masked. Links are never clickable, email attachments are virus-checked before they can be opened, and each role sees only the content the station allows it. Every moderation action is written to an audit trail.

  • Automatic expletive masking
  • Ban a sender for a set time or permanently, with a reason
  • Links shown as plain text, never as links
  • Virus-checked email attachments
  • Every action audited and attributable

A presenter can read from the queue knowing it has been screened.

Smart rules and autoresponders

Let the routine decisions make themselves

Rules run on every incoming message: when a condition matches — a keyword, a sender’s history, a channel, the show on air, the time of day, sentiment — the action follows. Highlight it, alert a role, add a label, hide it, ban the sender, email the team or send it to the station’s own systems. Autoresponders answer listeners privately on a first message, a keyword or outside show hours, within a daily cap the station sets.

  • Condition → action rules, in the order you set
  • Test a rule against the last 200 messages before it goes live
  • First-time listener alerts, by role
  • Automatic replies with a daily cap and a cost estimate
  • Signed webhooks to the station’s own systems

The producer stops doing the same five clicks a hundred times a show.

Shows and schedules

Know which show every message belongs to

Set up each show with its services, presenters and weekly slots in the station’s timezone, including shows that run past midnight, off-air dates and one-off extras. Each incoming message is tagged with the show on air, and a show can limit its presenters to its own messages.

  • Weekly slots, off-air dates and one-off extras
  • “On air” indicator and a show filter on the dashboard
  • Presenters limited to their own show where needed
  • Target audience recorded per show

A presenter sees their show’s messages, and the manager can compare one show with another.

Competitions and voting

Run a live competition without losing control

Competitions trigger on a keyword, belong to a show if you want them to, and move through their states automatically. Draw a winner and watch votes tally live, without leaving the dashboard.

  • Keyword-triggered entry
  • Automated state transitions
  • Winner selection from valid entries
  • Live vote tallies
  • Winner details shared with a sponsor only after consent is recorded

The producer runs the competition from the same screen as the show.

Sponsors and advertisers

Show a sponsor what their campaign delivered

A campaign groups a sponsor’s keywords and competitions over its dates. While it runs, automatic replies carry the sponsor line. Each campaign has a report of messages, listeners, new listeners and entries by day — and the station can give the advertiser their own login to see it, with no listener details.

  • Campaign reports by day, with CSV download
  • Advertiser logins in the station’s branding, with two-factor sign-in
  • A shared media library for scripts, spots and artwork
  • One advertiser login across every station that invites them

The sales team can evidence a sponsorship without building a spreadsheet.

Station branding

Make it look like your station, not ours

Each station gets its own address, such as yourstation.studiocaster.app, with a sign-in page in its own name, logo and colours. Light and dark palettes are adjustable with contrast checks, and email replies go out in the station’s own header and footer.

  • A station address and branded sign-in page
  • Station colours for light and dark, with contrast checks
  • Branded email header and footer
  • White-labelling on plans that include it

Staff, listeners and advertisers see the station’s brand at every touchpoint.

Accounts and roles

Give each person exactly what they need

Each station has its own account with Admin, Moderator and Studio roles. A Studio account can only do what someone else can undo, and the station can grant individual Moderator abilities without promoting anyone. Subscription tiers set the feature access and limits that apply.

  • Isolated account per station
  • Admin, Moderator and Studio roles
  • Individual abilities granted without a promotion
  • Deleted messages go to a recycle bin
  • Tier-based feature access and limits

A presenter cannot break anything mid-show, because nothing they can do is permanent.

Smart rules and autoresponders

Let the routine decisions make themselves

The producer stops doing the same five clicks a hundred times a show.

What it does

A rule: traffic reports are marked priority, labelled and sent to the studio. Sample data.

Shows and schedules

Know which show every message belongs to

A presenter sees their show’s messages, and the manager can compare one show with another.

Search and audience analytics

Account for what happened after the show

A manager can evidence audience response without asking for a report.

What it does

Channels

Eight channels. One broadcast workflow.

Connect the ones your station uses. Each message keeps its source and context, while the screener works one consistent live-show process.

  • SMS

The shortcode and long-number texts that still carry most phone-ins, through Twilio, Vonage, Esendex or Studiocaster SMS.

  • WhatsApp

Voice notes, photos and long messages to the station number, with the 24-hour reply window shown.

  • X / Twitter

Mentions and replies aimed at the show.

  • Messenger

Messages to the station’s Facebook page, in the same stream as everything else.

  • Telegram

A station bot, for audiences who have moved there.

  • Signal

    For contributors who need it.

  • Email

A station mailbox, including Microsoft 365. Attachments are virus-checked and links never open.

  • Website widget

A message form for the station’s own website, in the station’s logo, colours and wording.

* Some channels may require a separate subscription that is maintained and paid for by the radio station.

Roles

Access that matches the job

Three roles within each station account. Producers get fast moderation controls, presenters get a surface where nothing they do is permanent, and managers get configuration and oversight. Sponsors get a login of their own, outside the team.

Admin Station manager
Runs the account. Sets up services, adds the team, brands the station, invites advertisers, manages billing and settings, and can see everything the station is doing.
Moderator Producer or screener
Works the live decision between message received and microphone live, and is accountable for what survives. Moderates the stream, bans senders, runs competitions and campaigns, and maintains the station’s shows and smart rules. Cannot manage users, services, billing or account settings.
Studio Presenter or guest host
Works the live stream during the show — triage, labels, sender notes, forwarding and exports — where every action can be undone. A deleted message goes to the recycle bin, never further. Nothing permanent: no bans, purges or account controls, unless the station grants a specific ability.
Advertiser Sponsor or agency
Not part of the station team. Invited by the station to see the campaigns it shares — aggregate numbers and CSV, in the station’s branding — and to upload files for them. Never sees listeners’ names, numbers or messages.
